Frequently Asked Questions

Appointments & Booking

How do I book an appointment?

You can book your personalised bridal appointment easily via our website. If you need help or have a specific request, feel free to reach out via email or phone — we’d love to help you plan your visit.

Can I take photos or videos?

Yes — feel free to take photos or even better, short videos! Just remember, a picture may not capture how you felt in the dress, so trust your instincts most of all.

How long are appointments?

Our bridal appointments typically last 1 hour 30 minutes (although we do have a couple of options), giving you plenty of time to explore styles, ask questions, and enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.

How many guests can I bring?

We can accommodate up to three adult guests per standard appointment, as we are a small and intimate studio space. If you’d like to bring more guests, our Luxe Appointment option allows up to four guests and includes more time.

What to Bring & Wear?

What should I wear to my appointment?

We recommend wearing seamless nude underwear (the bigger the better!) and a strapless bra if you have one. Avoid black, or brightly coloured underwear, and please wear minimal makeup with no fake tan or heavy foundation to help us keep the dresses in perfect condition.

Should I bring shoes or accessories?

If you already have your wedding shoes, feel free to bring them! We also have a small selection of heels in the studio (sizes 4 & 6). You're welcome to bring any accessories you’re planning to wear too.

Dress Information

What designers do you stock?

Our curated edit includes a selection of modern, fashion-forward bridal designers such as Miss Chloe, Love & Liberty, Kelly Lin, and others. You’ll find gowns that blend timeless silhouettes with contemporary details — all thoughtfully selected for our brides.

What is 'made-to-order'?

Made-to-order means your dress is crafted especially for you in the closest size to your measurements (e.g. UK 6–20), rather than being mass-produced. Minor alterations will still be needed to perfect the fit. This is different from made-to-measure, which custom-cuts a garment to your exact body. We can recommend excellent seamstresses for alterations.

What is your price range?

Wedding dresses range from £1,400 to £2,500, with most dresses averaging around £1,750.

Can I make changes to my dress?

Yes — small design tweaks such as changing a neckline, adjusting skirt splits, or altering length are often possible. We’ll chat through your ideas during your appointment.

What sizes are your samples?

Our studio samples range from size 10 to 16, with most being around size 12. Don’t worry if a sample doesn’t fit perfectly — your actual dress will be made to the closest standard size based on your measurements.

Do you offer alterations?

We don’t offer alterations in-house, but we work with a trusted network of experienced bridal seamstresses locally. We’ll provide recommendations once you’ve placed your order.

Timeline & Orders

When should I start dress shopping?

We recommend starting 12–18 months before your wedding, and placing your order no later than 9 months before your big day. This allows for production (typically 6–8 months) and 6–12 weeks for alterations. If your timeline is tighter, don’t worry — we can explore rush options or off-the-rack samples.

What is your returns policy?

As most of our dresses are made to order, all purchases are final sale and non-refundable. A formal contract will be provided at the time of order, which outlines the terms clearly.

Can you accommodate rush orders?

Yes! Many of our designers offer rush services for a shorter turnaround. A rush fee may apply (usually around +10% of the dress price), but we’ll always do our best to find the best option for you.

How do I place an order?

Once you’ve found the one, a 50% non-refundable deposit secures your dress. The remaining 50% is due 4 weeks after. You can also pay in full at the time of order if preferred.

Additional Questions

Do you offer accessories?

Absolutely! We carry a beautiful selection of veils, jewellery and hair pieces, to complete your bridal look. Whether you want understated elegance or a bold statement, we’ve got the perfect pieces to finish your look.

What is a trunk show?

A trunk show is a limited-time event where we host extended or new designer collections that aren’t usually available in the studio. It’s a great chance to try rare styles — sometimes with special offers. Keep an eye on our social media and emails for upcoming dates.

What if you stock a designer I love but not the dress I want?

No problem — just email us at hello@thecorneratelier.com with your dream dress. If possible, we’ll arrange a temporary loan of that piece for your appointment (a small fee may apply).
